In quarantine, I worked so much on my anxiety. And I improved a lot but, I hit rock bottom again and it dawned upon me, in broad daylight, that I’m having the worst kind of anxiety all over again and the funny part is, I was at work and didn’t have the time for a panic attack. So many people relate to this conversation about anxiety. So here’s what I, someone who has GAD, would like to say:

If your heart starts racing at the thought of going to work/school/meeting people, I get you. If you don’t feel good enough, smart enough, happy enough, no matter how much you try? I get you.

If your anxiety gets the best of you, and no matter what you do, you always feel small and insignificant? I feel you. If your loved one is upset with you, and you’d rather apologize in a heartbeat for the fear of losing them, no matter how many times they tell you they’re not leaving? I understand. If your hands start trembling at the thought of people confronting you, I get you!

While this seems like a small thing for many people, I’ve actually felt like my anxiety does take over my life at many points.

As a fresh graduate, I’m working super hard on not letting my anxiety interfere with my work, by learning as much as I can from my seniors + supervisors.

As a fragile human, taking it one day at a time. Confiding in my loved ones. Talking to my friends. Seeking help is a great option but unfortunately, therapy is so expensive. Talk it out. Don’t keep it in. Don’t torture yourself. You’re braver than you think you are.
